It’s been one wild ride!

Our Newport festival was the perfect end to our food truck tour this year with a little help from the beautiful weather and Newport Yachting Center!

Eight festivals later, we can’t believe that the 2014 Food Truck Festival season has finally come to a close. From Asian to BBQ and seafood, Newport festival-goers had plenty to choose from with the 20 trucks parked in the marina. We saw so many new faces – Gilded Tomato Company, Z Food Truck, Pete’s Ice Cream, and GottaQ. Not to mention everyone’s faves – Away Cafe, Cupcake City, Shuckin’ Truck, and Trolley Dogs. Needless to say, the food was a hit :)

Congrats to Plouf Plouf Gastronomie, who won this festival’s Cream of the Crop contest. Chef Chris Coombs presented them with a cool $1,000 check. Way to go, Plouf Plouf! Spend it well!

People drank and ate while listening to the Boston-based band Waldo, who followed us down to Rhode Island to perform. You guys were a hit – as always! Last but not least, thanks to all our sponsors: Hood Cream, Leaf Filter, Renewal by Anderson, Boston Globe, and Wine & Spirits! To our media partners Lite Rock 105 and boston.com – thanks for everything you guys do for us.

We cannot thank everyone enough – the trucks for their participation, the support from volunteers and staff, and the people of Newport who came out! Ultimately, our goal this entire tour was to feed and make people happy – we think it’s sae to say that the 2014 Food Truck Festivals tour succeeded.

We have some BIG plans for 2015, so keep an eye out for us! FTFNE can’t wait to do it all again next year :)
